More Information:

Interestingly, the name comes from the old Spanish word coco, meaning “head” or “skull”, after the three indentations on the coconut shell that resemble facial features. It is one of the most useful trees in the world and is often referred to as the “tree of life”. It provides food, fuel, cosmetics, folk medicine and building materials. Clinical studies have revealed that coconut oil improves the symptoms of skin disorders by moisturizing and soothing the skin. It was shown to prevent trans-epidermal water loss thus increasing skin hydration and repairing skin barrier.
