Green Tea

What is it?

Green tea is made from the leaves and buds of Camellia sinensis that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process used to make oolong teas and black teas.

Main Benefits:

Anti-aging, anti-oxidant, astrigent, toning, brightening.

More Information:

Green tea extracts have gained popularity as ingredients in topical skin care preparations to treat aging skin.  Green tea is an abundant source of plant polyphenols that exhibit significant antioxidant, chemopreventive, and immunomodulatory effects in protecting the skin, and studies suggest that thesy help mediate ultraviolet radiation damage. As studies show, topical application of green tea polyphenols to human skin inhibited the UV-induced erythrema response and protected cells from UV damage and photoaging.
